Future direction

The direction, not a cupboard of names.

everwished keeps plenty of notebooks. A name or half-formed mechanism does not become public work merely because it could one day be interesting.

This is not a public catalogue of every idea.

Work belongs on the public site when there is something useful to inspect, a specific question to test or a clear reason to invite someone in. Until then, keeping it private is more honest and more useful.

The publication rule

Describe the current state, show the evidence that can be shown, name the important unknowns and make the next useful step clear.

How an idea earns its way out

  1. Find a real need

Start with an observable problem and the people who experience it.

  2. Make the smallest useful proof

Build or model enough to test the difficult assumption, not merely the attractive surface.

  3. Set an honest status

Say whether it is research, a proposal, a demonstration, a working product or available delivery.

  4. Invite a specific next step

Ask for the pilot setting, specialist, operator or market partner the work actually needs.

The longer view

Useful products carried further

Working products should reach capable operators and markets instead of remaining permanent founder demos.

A networked practice

Independent specialists can share standards and infrastructure while responsibility and reward remain attached to the work.

Public learning with evidence

Case notes and reusable material can be published once they are accurate, safe and genuinely useful.
